On May 8, 2024, senior researcher at the department of information, publication and use of documents of the institution \u00abState Archives of the Gomel Region\u00bb<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as the State Archives of the Gomel Region) A.M.Drozdova<\/strong> conducted a series of lessons for students of the State Educational Institution \u00abSecondary School No.2 of Gomel named after G.M.Sklezneva\u00bb<\/strong> on the topic: \u00abMay 9, 1945. Dedicated to the Great Victory\u00bb<\/strong> within the walls of the branch library No.3 named after E.R.Romanov, Gomel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the lessons, senior researcher at the regional archive Alina Drozdova, together with schoolchildren, reconstructed the chronology of the liberation of the territory of our country during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Particular attention was paid to the strategic offensive operation for the liberation of Belarus \u00abBagration\u00bb. We talked about war heroes and their outstanding exploits. Our duty is to remember at what cost the Victory in this terrible war was given to us and to honor the memory of those who died.<\/p>\n

As part of the event, an exhibition prepared by GAG employees for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders was also demonstrated. The exhibition was prepared with the aim of familiarizing oneself with archival documents and preserving historical memory, as a guarantee that such tragic events will not be repeated in the future. Documentary materials gave schoolchildren the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about the historical past of the Belarusian people.<\/p>\n
