On April 23, 2024, for students of grade 5 \u00abB\u00bb of the State Educational Institution \u00abGymnasium No.1 of Dzerzhinsk\u00bb<\/strong>, the next lesson of the \u00abYoung Archivist\u00bb<\/strong> circle was held. The students were addressed by the deputy head of the department for the use of documents and information Mikhail Vladimirovich Garelik<\/strong> and the leading archivist-restorer of the document restoration laboratory Margarita Arkadyevna Shmaliy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The circle participants got acquainted with film document carriers, 16mm and 35mm film, learned about the basic rules for storing them and approaches to ensuring safety, and about the types of damage on film. During the story, the emphasis was placed on approaches to the restoration of damaged film documents. The circle participants could not only see how the restoration process takes place, but also participate in it directly by splicing the film.<\/p>\n

On the eve of the anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, fifth-graders were told about its scale and consequences, and were shown photographs and newsreels from the BGAKFFD collections.<\/p>\n

The lesson and practical activity aroused keen interest among fifth-graders.<\/p>\n
