On March 22, on the day of remembrance of theKhatyn tragedy<\/strong>, employees of theZonal State Archives in Molodechno<\/strong>visited the territory of the memorial complex\u00abIn memory of past vesaks\u00bb<\/strong>near the village Snezhkovo, Vileika district<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The memorial opened on June 30, 2009. It consists of 13 named boulders (according to the number of village councils), with the names of settlements that disappeared from the map of the area during the Great Patriotic War. Among them are those that repeated the fate of Khatyn – Lyubcha, Borki, Rabtsovo, Klyuevo, Yanovo.<\/p>\n

The memorable place does not leave anyone indifferent: the mournful sculptural compositions and the phantom image of the village chill the soul. Representatives of the archive laid flowers at the memorial sign and honored the victims with a minute of silence.<\/p>\n

Today, the number of burned villages in the Vileyka region has been established – there are 96 of them. In total, during the years of occupation of Belarus, the Nazi invaders carried out more than 140 punitive operations.<\/p>\n
