At the initiative of the Scientific and Practical Center for Problems of Strengthening Law and Order of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers, a scientific and practical round table \u201cGenocide of the civilian population of the BSSR during the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period\u201d was held in Minsk.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by representatives of government bodies and organizations, researchers, as well as students of the Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State Economic University.<\/p>\n

Head of the Publications Department of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>, Ph.D. S.V. Kulinok<\/strong> presented a report on the topic \u201cPunitive operation \u201cRichert\u201d (\u201cWinter Forest\u201d).\u201d At the beginning of his speech, the speaker touched upon the issue of the terminological definition of the concept of \u201cpunitive operation\u201d in Russian and German historiography, and then, based on a wide range of documentary sources from the archives of Belarus, Russia, Germany and the USA, he spoke about the punitive operation \u201cWinter Forest\u201d carried out by the Nazis.<\/p>\n
