The events were held as part of the \u00abArchives for School\u00bb<\/strong> campaign.<\/p>\n

Deputy Director of the Archive T.V.<\/strong> Buevich she spoke about the ways of getting an education during the period when Belarus was part of the Russian Empire, about the creation of the Soviet education system in the 1920s and 1930s, drew attention to the fact that only since 1935 the school year began on September 1. Prior to this, each educational institution set the dates for the start of studies independently.<\/p>\n

The listeners got acquainted with the cases, which tell about the events in the life of the Komsomol and Pioneer organizations of the Vitebsk region.<\/p>\n

Then the students were shown the process of digitizing archival documents on the Planetary Scanner.<\/p>\n

The lecture ended with a sightseeing tour of the repository of the former party archive of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus – now the archive repository of the State Archive of the Vitebsk Region on Lenina Street, 32.<\/p>\n
