On May 15, 2023, the staff of the National Historical Archives of Belarus<\/strong> took an active part in the republican campaign \u00abMy family is my country\u00bb<\/strong>, timed to coincide with Family Day<\/strong>. For this event, the NIA of Belarus organized consultations for citizens on the search and location of documents of a genealogical nature, as well as the algorithm of actions when conducting independent research on family history. The personal reception of citizens on this topic was conducted by the deputy directors Irina Kovganova<\/strong> and Maxim Makarov<\/strong>, as well as the head of the reading room of the archive Oksana Rasskazova<\/strong>. By telephone, counseling of citizens was carried out by Olga Korenkova<\/strong>, Deputy Head of the Documents and Information Use Department.<\/p>\n

As part of the campaign and the celebration of the Family Day, the NIA of Belarus also held a lesson on the topic \u00abContinuity of generations in the reflection of archival documents: genealogy and family history\u00bb<\/strong> for a group of employees of the central office of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus. During the lesson, M. Makarov told the guests about the history and funds of the institution, and Vladimir Denisov<\/strong>, a leading researcher at the Department for the Use of Documents and Information, took them on a tour of the archives, where he introduced them to a number of unique documents stored in the NIA of Belarus. After that, I. Kovganova and Deputy Head of the Department of Research and Publication Evgeny Glinsky<\/strong> demonstrated to the employees of the Ministry samples of the main types of genealogical sources and spoke in detail about the possibilities of conducting research on their own pedigree. The guests showed great interest in the presented documents and materials.<\/p>\n
