April 27-29, 2023<\/strong> on the basis of Vitebsk State University named after P.M.Masherov<\/strong>, the VII<\/strong> International Scientific and Practical Conference \u00abActual Problems of Source Studies\u00bb<\/strong> is being held. The Vitebsk conference takes place every two years and is one of the largest and most representative scientific events in the field of source studies in the post-Soviet space. More than 250 researchers<\/strong> from educational institutions and research centers of Belarus, Russia, and Uzbekistan take part in the work of the conference in person and in absentia.<\/p>\n

The organizers of the scientific forum are VSU named after P.M.Masherov, National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> (NARB), National Historical Archives of Belarus<\/strong>, St.Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Termez State University.<\/p>\n

The Rector of VSU named after P.M.Masherov, Professor V.V.Bogatyreva<\/strong> and the Director of the NARB A.K.Demyanuk<\/strong> addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.<\/p>\n

At the plenary session, the deputy director of the NIAB, candidate of historical sciences M.D.Makarov<\/strong> (report \u00abTwo maps of the era of the Vyalikag of the Principality of Lithuania from the fund of the National Historical Archive of Belarus\u00bb<\/strong>) and the head of the publications department of the NARB, candidate of historical sciences S.V.Kulinok<\/strong> (report \u00abThe Special Formation of the SS of Oscar Dirlewanger in Belarus: a Review of Sources\u00bb<\/strong>). <\/p>\n

The sections were attended by: Researcher of the NARB Publications Department T.N.Ageenko<\/strong> (report \u00abOn the question of the activity of the Vitebsk Historical Center\u00bb<\/strong>), deputy head of the publications department of NARB I.A.Vishnevsky<\/strong> (report \u00abMaterials of the archive of the Belarusian Renewal Synod as a source of study of repression against the Orthodox clergy\u00bb<\/strong>), deputy Head of the Research and Publication Department of NIAB, E.S.Glinskyi<\/strong> (report \u00abInferences of the nobility by landowners of the Slutsk and Kapila principalities in the 17th-18th centuries: interpretation and verification of data\u00bb<\/strong>), deputy Head of the Department of Information and Search Systems of the NARB V.Yu.Monzul<\/strong> (report \u00abInformation Potential of Protocols of City and District (in cities) Party Conferences of the Byelorussian SSR 1945-1953 on the History of Everyday Life\u00bb<\/strong>), leading researcher of the scientific research department of NIAB S.N.Ryndzin<\/strong> (report \u00abDevelopment of photographic business in Vitebsk province (second half of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century)\u00bb<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

As part of the conference, there was a presentation of NARB and NIAB publications. The participants of the conference also got acquainted with the exhibitions of the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus \u00abWithout a statute of limitations. Belarus\u00bb, \u00abThe hut is a shrine of national memory\u00bb and NIAB \u00abNational historical archive of Belarus – 85\u00bb.<\/p>\n
