They remembered the terrible tragedy of that time, the feat of people who showed courage and courage in eliminating the consequences of the accident.<\/p>\n<p>The disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was the most destructive in the history of nuclear energy. According to the International Nuclear Event Scale, the Chernobyl disaster is ranked seventh, the highest level of damage inflicted. More than <strong>200 thousand<\/strong> square kilometers were subjected to radioactive contamination, of which 70% &#8211; on the territory of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the accident at the 4th power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, vast territories of five regions of Belarus, in which <strong>27<\/strong> cities and <strong>2697<\/strong> settlements were located, where more than <strong>2 million people<\/strong> lived, were more or less exposed to radioactive contamination. The affected area was 45.52 thousand kilometers.
