Since April 1942 &#8211; the commander of the partisan detachment named after N. A. Shchors, who operated in the Rossony, Drissensky, Osveysky districts of the Vitebsk region.<\/p>\n<p>Since March 1965 &#8211; First Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPB.<\/p>\n<p>The period of his leadership of the republic was marked by a significant economic upsurge of the BSSR.
