On November 30, 2022, the second regional competition \u00abYoung archivist\u00bb<\/strong> was held in Svetlogorsk, dedicated to the theme \u00abMemory and pain of the Gomel land\u00bb<\/strong>, the founders of which were the main departments of justice, education, ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the Gomel regional executive committee<\/strong>, as well as institution \u00abState archive of the Gomel region\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The partner of the competition was the Gomel regional branch of the NGO \u00abBelarusian Peace Fund\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This competition is aimed at the civil and patriotic education of young people through a deep study and documentation of historical events that took place on the Gomel land. In addition, the competition allows you to identify and support talented and motivated young people.<\/p>\n

In his speech at the opening of the competition, Andrei Gurzhiy<\/strong>, First Deputy Head of the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, noted that our region was the first in the Republic of Belarus to establish this competition. Interest in it is growing among both students and teachers. The number of participants in the competition is also growing. So this year, 68 applications have already been received for the competition.<\/p>\n

Finishing his speech, Andrey Anatolyevich noted that it is right to say: \u00abHe who does not know the past has no future\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The defense of research papers submitted for the competition took place in the Art Gallery. Pryanishnikov, where strict selection and evaluation criteria were presented to the contestants. During the event, the competition commission evaluated the selected works within the framework of the above topic, in three categories: \u00abGenocide – the conveyor of death\u00bb, \u00abBells of burned villages\u00bb, \u00abThe fate of\u00bb workers from the East \u00ab, prepared using historical documents, as well as independent research work of the contestants.<\/p>\n

The jury members noted that the conditions of the competition were quite tough, and the work done by the schoolchildren was thorough.<\/p>\n

After the speeches of the schoolchildren, the commission summed up the results and determined the winners of the competition.<\/p>\n

Thus, the winners of the competition were: State Educational Institution \u00abGymnasium of the town of Bragin\u00bb Daria Gavrilenko<\/strong> with the work \u00abBraginskaya Death Pit\u00bb, State Educational Institution \u00abPorechskaya Secondary School of the Oktyabrsky District\u00bb Ivankovskaya Daria<\/strong> with the work \u00abWe live, we remember Pakul. We are alive, we remember Pakul\u00bb, State Educational Institution \u00abMaloavtyukovskaya Secondary School\u00bb of the Kalinkovichi District Boyko Veronika<\/strong> with the work \u00abFlame from the forty-second … village of Lozki\u00bb and State Educational Institution \u00abOzershchinskaya Secondary School No. 1\u00bb of the Rechitsa District Zhuchkova Sofia<\/strong> with the work \u00abThe Fate and Life of the Village of Kobylevo \u00ab.<\/p>\n

To preserve the civic-patriotic mood in the younger generation, the awarding of the participants of the regional competition took place at the Ola memorial complex. An excursion around the museum and the memorial complex was organized for the children. None of those present was left indifferent by the story of a small village where about 2,000 civilians, including 950 children, died.<\/p>\n

In addition, as part of this event, students took part in a rally in memory, laying flowers and toys, and honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence.<\/p>\n

This event was covered by the Svetlogorsk media, as well as on the main TV channel of the country \u00abBelarus 1\u00bb.<\/p>\n
