On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>, the staff of the State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region<\/strong> took part in a number of events timed to this date.<\/p>\n

On June 30, the archivists visited the Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory<\/strong>. The excursion with a visit to the military-historical exposition was held as part of the planned events, timed to the Year of Historical Memory and on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n

The deputy director of the museum, Konstantin Mishchenko<\/strong>, acquainted the archivists with the exposition that reflects the important events in the military history of Gomel, with a special emphasis on the period of the Great Patriotic War. The open area of the museum displays military equipment – armored, artillery and motor vehicles. There are planes, helicopters and even a train.<\/p>\n

In addition, the archivists with their family members visited the historical and cultural complex \u00abThe Stalin Line\u00bb, where they could see the expositions, examined the restored pill-boxes (long-term firing points) with artillery pieces, machine guns, weapons and other relevant attributes, walked in the trenches, visited the territory of a partisan village, an airfield, military armored vehicles, weapons and much more.<\/p>\n
