To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>, the workers of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings (BGAKFFD)<\/strong> took part in the celebrations at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk on 24 June 2022.<\/p>\n

Specially for the anniversary, together with the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus, they developed and designed the photo exhibition \u00abProsecutor’s Office in Persons\u00bb, dedicated to the heads of the prosecution bodies of the BSSR and the Republic of Belarus for a 100 year period. They also presented the following archive materials: an album describing the trials of the war criminals which took place in the cities of Minsk and Bobruisk in 1946-1947 and three original albums kept in the archive collections. These are photo albums about the exhumation of the bodies of those killed in the death camp Trostenets, handed over by the Belarusian Republican Commission for Investigation of Atrocities of Nazi Criminals and their Accomplices during the Great Patriotic War. An album about the development of aviation in the USSR, handed over by the collector N. A. Kuchevsky and an album with views of postwar Minsk, handed over by the Council of Ministers of the BSSR.<\/p>\n

In addition, the archive employees prepared a video about the trials of war criminals in 1946-1947 (a fragment of the documentary film “People’s Court”, 1946 is available at the official BGAKFFD YouTube channel) and audio recordings of recollections of survivors of burned Belarusian villages, made in 1970-1971 by writers Ales Adamovich and Yanka Bryl. The exhibition displayed the archive’s printed products, photographic equipment and various types of film and sound recordings media (photo cameras, videotapes, gramophone records, magnetic tape, positive and negative photographic film).<\/p>\n

The exhibition aroused great interest among the visitors. During the exhibition, the leading archivists of the Information and Documents Use Department A. S. Khachatryan<\/strong> and M. V. Garelik<\/strong>, and the Head of the Archive Repository T. P. Novikova provided details about the exhibition.<\/p>\n

Among the guests of honour at the exhibition were Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus R. A. Golovchenko<\/strong> and Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus A. I. Shved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
