On 21-23 June 2021, the IV Summer School for Young Archivists from the CIS Countries<\/strong> (Commonwealth of Independent States) was held with the participation of over 270 young specialists from the archival institutions of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the event was held online on the topic \u201cTheory and Practice of Working with Electronic Records\u201d. A group of 35 Belarusian archivists was able to join the video conference from their workplaces.<\/p>\n

The organizers of the IV CIS Summer School for Young Archivists were the Archives of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Leading scientists and archivists-practitioners from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, South Korea, Finland, Sweden and Poland were invited as lecturers. The participants noted the particular importance of the topic in the era of digital transformation of society. The archivists were able to get acquainted with new technologies for archival storage of electronic records and modern methods of archival work.<\/p>\n

At the IV CIS Summer School for Young Archivists the participants presented their video materials about the archives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian State Archives in Samara, the Russian State Historical Archives, the State Archives of Public Associations in the Gomel Region, etc.<\/p>\n

Such events contribute to the professional development of archivists and promote international cooperation in the archival field.<\/p>\n
