The National Historical Archives of Belarus in Grodno held a solemn meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Archives (1940-2020).<\/b><\/p>\n

To mark the jubilee date the Archive staff have prepared exhibitions of documents, books, guides, collections of archival records, slides, and a booklet on the history of the Archive, activities of its directors, memorable dates and achievements.<\/p>\n

The archivists received greetings from G.S. Zholnerkevich, Head of Organizational Work, Information and Use of Records at the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry, who read a letter of congratulation from the Department\u2019s Director V.I. Kourash, as well as words of congratulations from E.I. Yurgel, Head of Main Justice Administration, Grodno Region Executive Committee and E.P. Beresnev, Chairman of Grodno Region Trade Union of Workers of Government Institutions.<\/p>\n

Among the participants at the event were directors of the national archives: A.K. Demyanyuk (National Archives of the Republic of Belarus), D.V. Yatsevich (National Historical Archives of Belarus), A.V. Zapartyko (Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art), A.N. Gonchar (Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings), A.M. Zapartyko (Belarusian State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation), A.E. Rybakov (Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Science), directors of regional and local state archives in Grodno Region, representatives of museums and the Yanka Kupala State University in Grodno.<\/p>\n

For long service, high professionalism and significant contribution to archive business in the Republic of Belarus, T.Yu. Afanasyeva, Director of the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Grodno, and a number of other Archive staff members received awards and honorary diplomas from the Department for Archives and Records Management and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n
