    The substantial part of the archives are the materials of the district and town\r\ndeputies councils, village councils, statistical institutions, collective and state farms,\r\ncourts, prosecutor’s offices, labour organizations, and machine-&-tractor stations. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The activity of the district, town and village councils is represented by the protocols\r\nand decisions of the executive committee sessions and meetings and by the documents\r\nrelating to the work of the permanent commissions, the executive committee commissions,\r\nand the district commissions for the election to the local councils.\u00a0 <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The fonds of the agricultural institutions retain records relating to the postwar\r\nrestoration and development of agriculture, and the creation and work of the collective\r\nand state farms and agricultural firms. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The records of the statistical institutions reflect the development of economics, local\r\nindustry branches, culture, housing stock, and the number of population.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The industrial development is reflected in the fonds of the major factories and plants.\r\nThese are the Bellegprom textile factory and the Lona clothes factory in Kobrin, the\r\nenergy-mechanical plant in Beloozersk, and the hydroelectric power station in Bereza.\r\nThese include job plans, salary schedules, records on gross output and production cost,\r\nstaff training and distribution, labour efficiency, certificates for manufacturing of\r\nserial products, reports on capital construction. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The records of the social and cultural institutions illustrate the work of clubs,\r\nlibraries, hospitals, medical institutions, the construction of schools, and the creation\r\nof the network of educational institutions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The fonds of the government agencies contain lists of the central, regional and\r\ndistrict enterprises; lists of social organizations; information on political parties and\r\nthe press; lists of heads of various institutions and enterprises; and more.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The records of the executive committees include data on property privatization, living\r\nspace quotas, tenders, etc. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The fonds of the manufacturing enterprises include business-plans, statistical reports\r\non cooperation with foreign countries. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    Of the most valuable are the records on Nazi damage caused to Belarus in WWII; lists of\r\ncitizens deported to Germany; records concerning the restoration of public economy in the\r\npostwar period, the liquidation of illiteracy, and the staffing of the district executive\r\ncommittees and departments and district schools. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The Archives holds the collection of personnel records of various institutions in the\r\nBereza, Kobrin and Pruzhany districts:
    \r\n\u2013institutions of the public education system from 1944-1960 (children’s homes);
    \r\n\u2013institutions of the purchasing, supply and sales system from 1944-1952. <\/p>\r\n\r\n
