About the project<\/h2>\r\n

The Project \u00abThe Life and Work of Yefim KARSKY, a Prominent Researcher of Belarusian Culture\u00bb is a special rubric on the Archives of Belarus website, an internet \r\nresource of the archives and RM authorities and the state archives network in \r\nthe Republic of Belarus.
\r\n
\r\nPurposes<\/b>
\r\n
\r\nThe purpose of the Project is to create on the Internet a more complete picture \r\non the issues of Belarusian history and culture by means of archival sources \r\nillustrating the great scientific contribution and exclusive role of Yefim KARSKY \r\nin the development of Belarusian culture and national rebirth.\r\n <\/p>\r\n

Structure<\/b>
\r\n
\r\nThe exhibition features 200 records and documents (their electronic copies) \r\nselected from the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art, the \r\nBelarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings, the \r\nNational Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the National Historical Archives \r\nof Belarus in Minsk, the State Archives of Grodno Region, the \r\nState Archives of Public Organizations of Grodno Region and the Belarusian \r\nResearch Center for Electronic Records.\r\n <\/p>\r\n

The exhibition is structured in two levels:
\r\n
\r\n– List of records, including their title, date, type, language and location \r\nindex. On the right are links to view a full-size record. The records are \r\nbasically arranged in chronological order.
\r\n
\r\n– Electronic copies of records. <\/p>\r\n

The exhibition consists of nine thematic sections with data about Karsky’s \r\nfamily, studies, activiy in the field of \r\neducation, participation in social life, scholarly works, collaborative \r\nrelations and his commemoration. The bulk of the exposition are textual \r\ndocuments \u2013 manuscripts (including autographs), typescripts, printed \r\ndocuments and published material (in full text and fragments). The documents are \r\nin Russian and Belarusian languages. The rest of the exhibition are photographs.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

The offered material is not exhaustive and further research is \r\npossible on the subject to expand the virtual exhibition.<\/b><\/p>\r\n
