Description of holdings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"submenu\">\r\n<a href=\"\/en\/?page_id=543670\">Contacts<\/a><br>\r\n<a href=\"\/en\/?page_id=559906\">Historical background<\/a><br>\r\n<a href=\"\/en\/?page_id=709302\">Finding aids<\/a>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<h2>Description of holdings<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p><b>Amount of holdings:<\/b> 877 fonds, 300 066 items<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><b>Chronological scope:<\/b> from 1939-1941, \u0441 1944 \u0433 to the present \r\n\r\n<p><b>Geographical coverage:<\/b> \r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li>abolished Antopol, David-Gorodok, Zhabchitsy and Logishin districts<\/li>\r\n  <li>Drogichin, Ivanovo, Luninets, Pinsk and Stolin districts of the Brest region <\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<p><b>Contents:<\/b> <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The Archives holds records created by\u00a0 the activity of local authorities,\r\ngovernment institutions, social and political organizations that operated in the region in\r\nthe period of the unification of Western Belarus with the Belarusian Soviet Socialist\r\nRepublic (BSSR). <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The fonds of temporary boards (1939-1941) reflect the formation of the Soviet power in\r\nthe Pinsk region and the liquidation of the old state system; contain data on the\r\nnationalization of the monetary funds of the former Polish banks and the landowners&#8217;\r\nmovable property, and data on buildings and structures in Pinsk that were in private\r\nownership.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The fonds of the town, district and region executive committees contain information on\r\nthe nationalization of industrial enterprises, the allotment of land plots for\u00a0\r\nindividual and public construction, the activities of religious institutions. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The fonds of the manufacturing enterprises reflect the process of industrial\r\ndevelopment in the postwar period. There are data on the construction and reconstruction\r\nof various enterprises, the development of new products, the introduction of new\r\nequipment, socialist competition, growth of productivity, inventiveness and\r\nrationalization.\u00a0 <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The fonds of the state and people&#8217;s control agencies contain materials concerning the\r\ninspection of manufacturing and economic activities at various enterprises, institutions,\r\ncollective and state farms. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The fonds of the prosecutor&#8217;s offices and courts contain special reports from 1944-1945\r\non banditry in the Pinsk region, as well as civil and criminal files. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The data on pensions and allowances to WWII veterans, servicemen&#8217;s families and\r\ndisabled veterans are held in the fonds of the district executive commitee welfare\r\ndivisions. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The records on collectivization (1948-1950), collective and state farms,\r\nmachine-and-tractor and service-and-supply stations (MTS and RTS), land reclamation, crop\r\nyield, potato and flax planting, cattle breeding, the availability of plough-lands and\r\nagricultural equipment are held in the fonds of the agricultural boards and land offices\r\nof the Pinsk regional and district executive committees. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The issues of public education, the liquidation of illiteracy, the extension of school\r\nnetwork, the training of specialists in national economy, the education of homeless\r\nchildren etc. are reflected in the fonds of the public education divisions of the district\r\nexecutive committees and in the fonds of various educational institutions.\u00a0 <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Records of the cultural institutions illustrate the work of libraries, clubs, and\r\ncinemas.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Records of healthcare institutions contain statistics on infectional diseases,\r\nchildren&#8217;s death and birthrate, medical assistance to the population, and the work of\r\nmedical institutions. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Sports and mass activities, the work of sports societies are reflected in the fonds of\r\nthe committees for physical education and sports. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Data on churches and prayer houses, lists of clergy are held in the fonds of the\r\nPlenipotentiary Council for Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church under the BSSR Cabinet\r\nfor Pinsk Region. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The fonds of the Pinsk Regional Commission on Investigation of Nazi Crimes and Nazi\r\nDamage in\u00a0the Pinsk Region contains data on civilian victims in the Second World War,\r\nrecords on damage caused to enterprises, institutions and individuals, questionnaires for\r\npersons who returned from Germany, lists of Nazi criminals and collaborators. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The archival collections include personal papers of people who took part in the\r\nnational liberation movement in Western Belarus, the Second World War, and the war in\r\nAfghanistan, as well as papers of the famous people of the Polesie region (actors,\r\npainters). <\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Contacts Historical background Finding aids Description of holdings Amount of holdings: 877 fonds, 300 066 items Chronological scope: from 1939-1941, \u0441 1944 \u0433 to the present Geographical coverage: abolished Antopol,&#8230;","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":543670,"menu_order":1,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-58593","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/58593"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=58593"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/58593\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1022514,"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/58593\/revisions\/1022514"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/543670"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=58593"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
