“The National Historical Archives of Belarus, a Treasury of Documentary Heritage. 1938-2008” narrates the history of this archives, the major in Belarus repository of manuscripts created before 1917, dating from periods of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Rzeczpospolita) and the Russian Empire. The book contains data on the original archives that laid the foundation for the National Historical Archives of Belarus and illuminates its present condition, achievements, and scope of activities. The book is accompanied with many illustrations, the archivists’ biographies, and a list of publications and scholarly papers performed by the archive’s personnel.
