International scholarly conference Historical Heritage of Belarus: Identification, Preservation and Study, 17-18 May 2012, Minsk
The Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State University History Faculty, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies hold an international scholarly conference entitled Historical Heritage of Belarus: Identification, Preservation and Study (on the 90th anniversary of the State Archival Service of the Republic of Belarus, the 85th anniversary of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus and the 20th anniversary of the Belarusian State University Source Study Department). The conference will take place in Minsk on 17-18 May 2012.
The conference topics:
• History, present state and perspectives of development of archival studies in Belarus;
• Source study and archaeography, archival studies and records management as the related areas of scholarly research;
• Archives and special historical disciplines;
• Archival records in the studies on ethnology, folklore and history of arts;
• Cooperation between museums, libraries and archival institutions in the identification, preservation and study of the documentary heritage of Belarus;
• The state of contemporary historiography. The methodology of historical research;
• Topical issues of professional training in archival science and records management;
• Historical information science: the issues of teaching and research.
Working languages: Belarusian, Russian.

Terms of payment of expenses to nonresident participants will be sent following the submission of the application form (not later than April 24, 2012).
The conference papers are expected to be published as a separate volume of conference papers and as research articles in scholarly journals.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right of choice of materials for publication. The Organizing Committee recommends submitting the paper texts (presentation, report) in both electronic form and on paper.
