Maksim Bahdanovich Page created to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Belarusian poet

A special jubilee page The classic writer of Belarusian literature Maksim Bahdanovich. To the 120th anniversary of the birth has been added to the Famous People section in the Subject Guides to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of this outstanding Belarusian poet, prose writer, literary critic, essayist and translator.

The page consists of five sections:

• A comprehensive overview of Maksim Bahdanovich’s life and work.

• A survey of Belarusian and foreign collections which contain records relating to Maksim Bahdanovich.

• A summary information on the first editions of Maksim Bahdanovich’s works (images of book cover, title page, preface, contents).

• A virtual exposition of nearly 400 records and materials relating to Maksim Bahdanovich (digital copies of textual records, photographs, sound recordings, drawings, images of museum objects). The online exhibits are organised by eight topics illustrating various aspects of Maksim Bahdanovich’s life and work. The source materials are selected from five Belarusian archives – the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art, the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Minsk, and the National Historical Archives of Belarus in Grodno.
