29th Conference of International Archival Day in Koper, Slovenia organized by International Institute for Archival Science of Trieste and Maribore (IIAS)

The 29th Conference of International Archival Day organized by International Institute for Archival Science of Trieste and Maribore (IIAS) took place in Koper, Slovenia on 21-22 October 2019. Belarusian archivists were represented by IIAS permanent member, Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies (BelNIIDAD) Andrey Rybakov.

The Conference was attended by over 70 representatives from Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, Oman, Poland, Russia, Rumania, Slovenia, Ukraine, Finland, Croatia and Czech Republic. The working languages at the event were English and Slovenian.

Greeting words to the participants were given by IIAS Director P.P. Klasinc (Slovenia); General Director of Archives of Italian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, President of IIAS Members Conference G. Barrera (Italy); Director of IIAS Autumn Archival School G. Tato (Italy); Director of State Archives of Trieste A. Colombatti; President of the European Center Maribore «Alma Mater Europea» L. Toplak.

The working program of the conference was opened by IIAS Director P.P. Klasinc with a general report “Archival Sciences and Resonances of Social Changes in Archival Theory and Practice”. The other key-note speakers were Director of the Historical Archives of the EU D. Schlenker (Florence) and Director of National Archives of Malta, President of ICA European Regional Branch (EURBIKA) Ch. Farrugia.

The other reports were grouped in two topics: “Questions of Archival Science” (12 reports) and “Resonances of Social Changes in Archival Theory and Practice” (16 reports).
