Representatives of BGAKFFD visited Vilnius, Lithuania to take part in the EU mobility project MOST

From 14 to 20 April 2019 representatives of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Records (BGAKFFD) had a work trip to Vilnius, Lithuania to take part in the European Union mobility project MOST.

The Belarusian archivists visited the Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania, where they got acquainted with the system of archives in Lithuania, work experience, modern problems and perspectives in the Lithuanian archives.

In the course of talks the parties exchanged the information of their practices in the basic fields of archive business, learned the activities of Lithuanian colleagues in digitization, preservation and restoration of films, videos, photos and sound records. They also visited the repositories of the Lithuanian Central State Archives and the State Historical Archives of Lithuania, learned the archive fonds and the profile audio and visual documents, examined the system of finding aids, reading rooms, paid services, databases and records inventory.

During the acquaintance with the historical-cultural heritage of Lithuania they visited the Martynas Mazvydas National Library of Lithuania, the National Museum-Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema, the Historical Museum in Trakai, the Vilnius University, some Catholic and Orthodox churches in Vilnius and Trakai.

During the visit the parties came to agreement on further cooperation in records digitization and joint projects in exhibition activities.
