The Belarusian Archives-Museum of Literature and Art opened three exhibitions

In July 2017 the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art opened three exhibitions:

On 13 July the Archives held the opening of the exhibition “My brother” celebrating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Mikhas Mitskevich (Antos Galina), Belarusian writer, translator, pedagogue and public figure, younger brother of Yakub Kolas. The initiator and organizer of the exhibition is Yakub Kolas’s granddaughter, president of the Sakavik Children’s Foundation of Spiritual and Cultural Revival, Marya Mitskevich.

On 14 July, on the occasion of the Seventh World Congress of Belarusians, the art gallery “The Culture University” (The Palace of the Republic) opened an exhibition “Zora nad Vitaut” marking 90 years of the Belarusian figures in the United States, Zora and Vitaut Kipel. The exhibition has been organized by the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art, the World Association of Belarusians “Batskaushchyna” and the art gallery “The Culture University” of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts.

The Seventh World Congress of Belarusians, held on 15-16 July in Minsk, also included the exhibition “Following Francis Skaryna: the printing legacy of Belarusian immigrants in the West” based on the documents from the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art.
