The Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Belarus held a board meeting
On 12 July 2017 the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Belarus held a board meeting to discuss the following issues: the results of complex inspection at the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Records; inspection of financial and economic activities at the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Records; handling of inquiries from citizens and legal persons in archives and records institutions in the first half of 2017.
On discussing the results of complex inspection at the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Records, the Archive’s work was assessed satisfactory with the necessity to remove the shortcomings revealed during the inspection.
On the third issue it was noted that handling of inquiries from citizens and legal persons to Belarusian archives and records institutions in the first half of 2017 was conducted in compliance with Belarus Law of 18 July «On inquiries from citizens and legal persons», Presidential Decree of 15 October 207 № 498 «On additional measures to handle inquries from citizens and legal persons», and Presidential Directive of 27 December 2006 № 2 «On measures for further debureaucratization of the state apparatus».
The work of archival institutions in the reported period was directed at the timely and qualitative execution of inquiries and petitions. The Department for Archives and Records Management and the regional archives and records authorities execute permanent control over the observance of legislation in this sphere. No violations of legislation have been found.
Considerable attention in the first half of 2017 was paid to control over terms of execution of inquries and filling the internet resources with proper information. In addition, the state archives inform interested persons on the composition and contents of archival documents in the mass media.
