The State Archives of Minsk Region has prepared a documentary exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the militia
![]() The exhibition illuminates the main stages in the activity of the police. Among the documents displayed are the Resolution of the People’s Commissar for Internal Affairs about the workers’s militia in 1917; the Circular on renaming the militia as the workers and peasants guard of the Lithuanian-Belarusian Republic in 1919; a school leaving certificate of a militia student from 1925; a report “On the work of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Workers and Peasants Militia in Minsk Region” for the 4th quarter of 1939; the 1992 Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus “On the establishment of the Academy of Police at the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, and more. A unique collection of photographs from the 1920 Album of the Minsk City Workers and Peasants Militia has been demonstrated at the exhibition for the first time. The exhibition has been prepared by the Archive’s division for records publication and runs at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus until March 5, 2017. |
