The State Archives of Brest Region holds an exhibition of documents, The Cultural Life in Brest 1944 – the 1980s

The State Archives of Brest Region has prepared an exhibition of documents, The Cultural Life in Brest. 1944 – the 1980s dedicated to the Year of Culture announced by Presidential Decree № 522 of 28 December 2015.

The exhibition shows around 30 documents from the holdings of the Brest Region Executive Committee, Brest Town Executive Committee, local cultural authorities, Brest Region Theatre of Drama and Culture, the M. Gorky Brest Regional Library, the Brest Regional Local Museum etc., over 70 articles and reports from the regional newspaper “Zarya”, a number of photographs.

The displayed materials demonstrate the development of culture and arts, folklore, the activities of cultural institutions in Brest etc.
