Delegation of the National Historical Archives of Belarus visited the Museum of King John III’s Palace at Wilanow (Warsaw, Poland)

On 10-12 June 2015 the delegation of the National Historical Archives of Belarus headed by Director D. Yatsevich paid a visit to the Museum of King John III’s Palace at Wilanow (Warsaw, Poland).

Attendees at the official meeting dedicated to the perspectives of cooperation between archival and museum institutions in Belarus and Poland were Director of the National Historical Archives of Belarus D. Yatsevich, Director of the Museum of King John III’s Palace at Wilanow P. Jaskanis, Deputy Director General of State Archives of Poland A. Bernat, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland D. Januszewska-Jakubiak, Director of the Center of Belarusian Culture at the Belarusian Embassy to Poland E. Shvaika and more.

The meeting resulted in signing a long-term agreement between the Archives and the Museum on cooperation in the field of research of the documentary heritage of the Sobieski family, which is held at the National Historical Archives of Belarus in the Fond “The Sobieski Archives at Olawa”. Belarusian archivists presented their Polish colleagues with the latest archive publications and acquainted with the practices of the museum’s exhibition and publication activities.

The delegation also visited the Belarusian Embassy in Poland and met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Poland A. Averyanov.
