15th international conference Archives in the Social Environment of the 21st Century in the series «Colloquia Jerzy Skowronek dedicata» Warsaw, Poland

The 15th international conference Archives in the Social Environment of the 21st Century was held on 21-22 May 2015 in Warsaw, Poland in the series of international archival conferences «Colloquia Jerzy Skowronek dedicata». The organizer of the conference was the Head Office of the State Archives of Poland.

The conference brought together representatives from 17 countries (Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Croatia and Estonia).

The conference focused on the issues related to the participation of archival institutions in the Internet, particularly in social networks. The other topics included the engagement of volunteer groups in the archive activities, the direct cooperation of archives with social organizations, some theoretical issues in the archive business etc.

Attendee at the conference from the Belarusian side was the Head of the Records and Information Use Division G. Zholnerkevich who delivered a report “Records of the state archives of the Republic of Belarus as a source of intercommunication with modern society”.
