International scholarly conference The Civil Population in the Second World War in archival materials, studies and recollections
On 23 April 2014 an international scholarly conference, The Civil Population in the Second World War in archival materials, studies and recollections was opened at the History Department of the Belarusian State University to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi occupants.
The conference’s organisers are the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry, the History Department of the Belarusian State University, the international public association “Reconciliation”.
A welcoming speech was delivered by the vice-rector for academic affairs at the Belarusian State University A. Danilchenko, director of the Department for Archives and Records Management V. Adamushko, head of programs department at the Federal Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” Dr R. Possekel (FRG), chairman of the board of the international public association “Reconciliation” A. Anoshko.
An exhibition of records “A region of courage and glory” was presented to participants at the opening of the conference.
