New publications issued by the Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies
The Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management and Archival Studies (BelNIIDAD) has issued the Records Schedule for standard records of the National Archival Fonds of the Republic of Belarus created by government agencies, institutions and private businessmen, with retention periods and commentaries.
This schedule defines the period of storage for records created by government agencies, institutions and individual entrepreneurs. The schedule is used in preparing records classification schemes, file plans, records appraisal, file description and formation, records acquisition, file inventory, etc.
The schedule is mandatory for execution by. all institutions and individual entrepreneurs in the Republic of Belarus.
BelNIIDAD has issued the Rules of Work for Archives in Government Agencies and Other Institutions with a Commentary.
The Rules of work for archives in government agencies and other institutions is a main normative and legal act establishing single requirements for records preservation, inventory, acquisition and use in the archives of government agencies and other institutions.
The Rules apply to the archives in both government and non-government institutions.
The Rules are registered with the National Register of Legal Acts of the Republic of Belarus, 8 August 2012 under № 8/26204.
The Rules are intended for archive personnel and records managers at government agencies and other institutions.
