Two new editions have been published
The State Archives of Brest Region has prepared a scholarly edition “Brest in 1939-1941. Documents and materials”.
The book presents 142 documents on the history of Brest during the short-time Soviet period from September 1939 to June 1941. These illuminate the activities of government institutions and party bodies, the political situation, the first arrangements of Soviet power, economic development, the state of industry, trade, municipal services, healthcare, education, cultural life, sports, etc.
Most records have been published for the first time. The book is illustrated with copies of documents, materials of periodical press and photographs. The teachers of the Brest Pushkin State University History Faculty assisted in the preparation and review of the book. This continues the edition of “Brest 1919-1939. Documents and Materials” published by the Archives in 2009 and is designed for historians, local specialists, archivists and everyone interested in the history of Brest
Compendium “The Consultative Council of Archival Services of CIS Countries. Working papers. Minsk, 21 June 2011”.
The book includes minutes of meeting of the Consultative Council with agenda, member statements and relevant decisions, as well as the Council’s regulations.
