Women in the Partisan Movement and Underground Resistance during the Great Patriotic War
The State Archive of the Minsk Region presents a virtual exhibition of documents titled «Women in the Partisan Movement and Underground Resistance during the Great Patriotic War», organized to mark the Year of the Belarusian Woman.
As we reflect on the events of the Great Patriotic War in late October, we look back to the autumn of 1941—a time when the foundations for a nationwide resistance, unprecedented in world history, were being laid in the occupied territory of Belarus. Our exhibition is dedicated to those whose courage and steadfastness forever dispelled the notion of the «weaker sex»—the women who served as partisans and underground fighters, battling for the freedom of their native land.
