Training Sessions Held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus for Trainees of the Minsk City Institute for Education Development

On October 2, 2026, as part of the «Archives to Schools» initiative, training sessions were held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARB) for trainees of the Minsk City Institute for Education Development.

S.V.Kulinok, Deputy Director of NARB and Candidate of Historical Sciences, delivered welcoming remarks to the educators from Minsk. Sviatoslav Valentinovich outlined the structure of the archival sector in the Republic of Belarus and the archives’ primary areas of activity in the current landscape. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between archives and educational institutions in strengthening the methodological and theoretical-pedagogical framework.

I.V.Dorogush, Head of the Personal Papers Department at NARB, conducted sessions on the topic «Archives: Repositories of Historical Memory». Inessa Vladimirovna discussed the history of NARB, the composition and storage specifics of the documents, and the archive’s work regarding publications and exhibitions. She also highlighted opportunities for using archival documents in research projects for competitions and in projects involving artificial intelligence. During the lecture, special attention was paid to NARB’s role in implementing the «Archives to Schools» initiative.

I.V.Dorogush also described the events organized by the archive for schoolchildren and educators in the Republic of Belarus and answered questions from the audience. After the training sessions, the participants visited the archive repository housing the records of partisan formations, where they viewed documents related to the command staff of partisan detachments and brigades, award citations, photographs, and other materials.
