On Knowledge Day, the Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and the Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Science met with students of the History Department of Belarusian State University

On September 1, 2026, O.L.Voinov, Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, and A.E.Rybakov, Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Science, met with first-year students of the History Department of Belarusian State University. The meeting was organized by the History Department of BSU and the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus to familiarize students majoring in Document Management and Archival Science with their future professions.

O.L.Voinov gave a presentation, which provided the first-year students with an overview of the archival service of the Republic of Belarus, its main areas of activity, and the current challenges facing state archival institutions. The head of the archival industry specifically discussed the most significant archival projects, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in archival work, and measures to improve office workflows in government agencies.

In his speech, A.E.Rybakov discussed current scientific and methodological issues in archival science and office work, the activities of the Belarusian Research Institute of Archival and Documentary Arts aimed at addressing them, and the close ties between document specialists and archivists in achieving the goal of preserving the country’s documentary historical and cultural heritage.

During the event, O.L.Voinov presented the Dean of the Faculty of History with the book «Mikhail Lomonosov. Research Everywhere, Hourly…», published as part of the «Union State Library» project.

The meeting took place in a friendly, businesslike atmosphere and generated genuine interest from the students.
