The Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art visited the studio of artist Alexei Antonovich Marochkin
On July 13, 2026, staff from the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art visited the studio of artist Alexei Antonovich Marochkin and held negotiations regarding the transfer of his documents to the archives and museum.
Alexei Antonovich was born on March 30, 1940, in the village of Papovshchina, Cherikov District, Mogilev Region. He graduated from the Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (Faculty of Art and Graphics) and the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (Painting Department). His teachers included renowned artists Ivan Akhremchik and Natan Voronov. Since 1977, he has been a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists. In 1992, he was awarded the Francysk Skaryna Medal for outstanding achievements in national revival. He painted portraits of Mykola Gusovsky, Francysk Skaryna, Kirill Turovsky, Tsetka, and others. His works are housed in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Exhibition Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, museums in Vitebsk, Grodno, Mogilev, Cherikov, the Museum of Nonconformism, and the Zimmerli Art Museum (USA), as well as private collections.
