Open Day for Summer Campers of Dzerzhinsk Gymnasium No.1

On June 11, 2026, as part of the Open Day, the national «Archives for Schools» campaign, and International Archives Day, staff of the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documentation Archive held an event for students of Gymnasium No.1 and summer school campers.

Mikhail Vladimirovich Garelik, Deputy Head of the Document and Information Management Department, and Victoria Nikolaevna Matveeva, Lead Archivist of the Document and Information Management Department, spoke to third-grade students about the basics of archival work with audiovisual documents.

The children saw various types of film, photo, and sound recording media. The event concluded with a screening of the animated film «Kvaka-zadavaka» (1975, Belarusfilm Studio) from the BSAFF collection. The cartoon screening and the demonstration of film and photographic film, slides, and photographic and cinematographic equipment to the children generated great interest, and the event was accompanied by numerous questions from the children.
