International Archives Week at the Zonal State Archives in Novogrudok
Thematic events were held at the Zonal State Archives in Novogrudok as part of International Archives Day and Week.
On Open Day, the state archives were visited by students from the health camp of Novogrudok Secondary School No.1. They were delighted to learn about the institution’s new exhibition projects, learn about the archive’s current status, and view films prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents. Since renovations are underway in the archives, the students helped dust the archival boxes, thereby contributing to the preservation of archival documents.
In the reading room, documents relating to the establishment of Soviet power and the first transformations in the Novogrudok region in 1939-1940 were on display.
Citizens of the Russian Federation (St.Petersburg) visited the archive to search for genealogical information. Representatives of the organizations that provided the archives and local historians also worked with documents in the reading room.
Fifteen telephone consultations were provided to individuals and representatives of legal entities, including on issues related to searching for archival information, established retention periods for certain types of documents, and organizing work with electronic documents.
