On June 11, 2026, staff from the Zonal State Archives in Slutsk held an «Hour of Courage» for students of the Slutsk State Agricultural Lyceum at the district library.
Before the screening, archive director Irina Antonovna Borodina told the students about the first days of the Great Patriotic War and the heroic fortitude of Soviet soldiers who defended the Brest Fortress, which became a true symbol of resistance to the enemy, a symbol of the courage and fortitude of the Red Army and the Soviet people.
In the Republic of Belarus, preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War is a deeply revered tradition. The Brest Hero Fortress is one of the main memorials carefully preserved by Belarusians, constantly reminding us of the events of the past war.
The event concluded with a screening of the documentary film «Hero Fortress», produced for the 85th anniversary of the defense of the Brest Fortress by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.
