The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus presented the documentary exhibition «Keepers of Time: Women in the History of Archives»
On May 28, 2026, the 99th anniversary of the founding of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the archive opened the documentary exhibition «Keepers of Time: Women in the History of Archives».
The exhibition is dedicated to outstanding women whose long-term work, dedication, and exceptional professionalism have been recognized with the highest departmental award the «Great Archivist of Belarus» badge.
It is often said that an archive is a strict world of documents, codes, and shelving. But behind every yellowed sheet, every restored fact, and every preserved collection, there is a living person. And in the history of Belarusian archival science, this person is often a woman.
Women archivists are more than just employees. They are true guardians of our national heritage. Possessing remarkable patience, unique research intuition, and pinpoint precision, they spent decades collecting, documenting, and preserving documentary evidence of our history. It is their hands that have woven the strong thread of memory that connects Belarus’s past with its future.
