National «Archives for School» Campaign at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI)

On May 13, 2026, as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign, a tour was held at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLI) for first-year students of Group TM-511 of the Belarusian State Academy of Communications.

The tour was led by V.V. Birulya, Head of the Information, Publication, and Document Use Department at BSAMLI. She described the rich history of the archives and museum building, a former Bernardine church and an architectural treasure.

The guests also learned about the archives and museum’s main activities and the archivists’ work in preserving the documentary heritage of Belarusian literature and art.

The participants also visited the reading room, where a documentary exhibition dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the classic Belarusian literary figure, Zmitser Byadulya, was on display. Students were able to view unique manuscripts, photographs, letters, and other documents revealing the writer’s life and career.

The «Archives for School» campaign continues its mission to popularize knowledge among young people about the cultural history of Belarus and the role of archives in society.
