The photo exhibition «Addresses of Courage: Women’s Names on the City Map» has opened at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus

Starting May 8, 2026, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARB) invites reading room users, archive visitors, and photography enthusiasts to visit the exhibition project «Positive» as part of the photo workshop at the Yanka Kupala Central Library in Minsk. The exhibition «Addresses of Courage: Women’s Names on the City Map» is dedicated to Victory Day and was created with the participation of the primary organization of the Belarusian Union of Women at NARB.

This exhibition is a unique dialogue between the modern city and its heroic past. Every day, we rush along Vera Khoruzhaya Street, the Chizhevsky Mother and Daughter Street, or the Lilya Karastoyanova Street, often without considering the destinies behind these names. The project combines artistic photography of contemporary Minsk streets with archival portraits of women who sacrificed everything for peace on this earth during the Great Patriotic War.
