The Mir Cinema in Vitebsk hosted the premiere of the youth film «The National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus» by the Belarusfilm National Film Studio

Before the screening, Elena Bondareva, Head of the Department of Information Retrieval Systems and Automated Archival Technologies at the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region, spoke. Vitebsk schoolchildren learned that the uniqueness of the national symbols of the Republic of Belarus lies in their historical continuity. It is noteworthy that their origins are, to one degree or another, connected to the Vitebsk region. For example, the coat of arms of the BSSR, which formed the basis for the modern coat of arms of Belarus, was designed by Valentin Volkov, a teacher at the Vitebsk Art College, and his students. The national ornament on our flag is based on embroidery from a towel woven by Matryona Markevich, a native of the Senno region.
