It has become a good tradition in the archival industry to hold a Remembrance Day before Victory Day.
On May 8, 2026, a ceremonial flower-laying ceremony was held at the Minsk Military Cemetery at the Stele to commemorate soldiers and partisans who died during the Great Patriotic War.
Participating in the ceremony were O.L.Voinov, Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus; A.E.Tsvetkov, Deputy Director of the Department; Yu.A.Zadiran, Chairman of the Department’s primary trade union; heads, deputy heads, and representatives of public associations of national archival institutions; and youth activists.
Speaking to the audience, O.L.Voinov said: «Today we have gathered at this sacred place, this memorial, to pay tribute and deep respect to those who gave us peace and freedom. We bow our heads before the heroic deeds of our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers, who, without sparing their lives, defended the land from the enemy. Their names are forever inscribed in the history of our country and in our hearts!»
Eternal memory to the Heroes!
Our duty is to keep this memory alive and pass it on to future generations. We must build a strong and prosperous country worthy of the great feat of the victors! The work of our country’s archivists in preserving and promoting historical truth will continue!
