Red Carnations on the Granite of Remembrance: Gomel Archivists Honor the Feat of the Heroic Militia
Today, on the eve of the great Victory Day, employees of the State Archive of Public Associations gathered at the monument to our valiant militiamen to pay their deepest respect and gratitude. This place has become a symbol of the courage and selflessness of those who stood up to defend the Motherland in the most difficult times.
The laying of flowers is not just a formality; it is our quiet but sincere conversation with the past. Each red carnation is a word of gratitude that we cannot express in person, but which, we believe, reaches the hearts of the heroes. We remember their feat, honor their sacrifice, and are proud of what they did for us, for our peaceful life. May this memory be eternal!
The memorial day continued with a ceremonial gathering, during which the archive staff watched the documentary «Hero Fortress». The film, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the defense of the Brest Fortress, once again recalled the unwavering will that began the journey to May 1945. For the guardians of history, this screening served as a reminder that behind every archival line stands a living person and an immortal feat.
