«XXVI Uzvyshauskiya Readings» to be held at BGAMLI

On May 26, 2026, the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art will host «XXVI Uzvyshauskiya Readings», an annual interdisciplinary conference organized by BGAML since 2000. It is named after the Belarusian literary and creative association «Uzvysha», which operated from 1926 to 1931 and played a significant role in the formation of modern Belarusian literature, also influencing other areas of Belarusian national culture. This year’s readings are timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of «Uzvysha».

The following topics are planned for discussion at the conference:

• Searching for and preserving Belarusian literary and artistic heritage
• The current state and prospects for studying «Uzvysh»
• The aesthetics of «Uzvysh» literature
• The «Uzvysh» magazine in the development of the Belarusian publishing tradition
• Personal collections in the study of the history of «Uzvysh»
• The problem of returning Belarusian archival and museum valuables to their homeland
• Literary and artistic figures celebrating anniversaries in 2026
