On the holding of thematic events at educational institutions dedicated to the Chernobyl tragedy by the State Archives of the Mogilev Region

In the lead-up to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, the staff of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region organized and held thematic events dedicated to the commemorative date of April 26, 1986, at the Mogilev Trade College branch of the Belarusian Trade and Industrial-Technological University and the Mogilev State Economics, Industrial and Technological College.

During the events, students were presented with a virtual exhibition, «Chernobyl – a Long Pain…», based on archival documents and describing the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster for the Mogilev Region.

The documentary film «Chernobyl: Chronicles of a Tragedy», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents, was also shown. The memory of the Chernobyl disaster serves as a reminder of the dangers of nuclear accidents and the ongoing work to mitigate the long-term consequences of radioactive contamination.
