On the Participation of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus in the Scientific and Practical Roundtable «State Measures to Protect the Rights of Citizens Affected by the Consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident»
On April 23, 2026, a scientific and practical roundtable discussion entitled «State Measures to Protect the Rights of Citizens Affected by the Consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident» was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The event was organized by the Scientific and Practical Center for Strengthening Law and Order of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the SPC). The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the NARB) was a co-organizer.
Welcoming remarks were addressed by I.A.Moroz, Director of the SPC, PhD in Law, and A.V.Trukhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics.
S.V.Kulinok, Deputy Director of the NARB, PhD in History, presented a report at the roundtable. He spoke about archival documents on the history of the Chernobyl tragedy held in the NARB collections.
A showcase exhibition, «Chernobyl: Pain and Memory», was presented to the event participants, along with a screening of a documentary film about the Chernobyl tragedy prepared by archivists from the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.
