Commemorative events dedicated to the International Day of Liberation of Nazi Concentration Camp Prisoners were held at the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region
On April 8 and 9, 2026, the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region held commemorative events titled «They Believed in Victory» for students of the Gomel State College of Culinary Arts and the Gomel State College of Consumer Services, dedicated to the International Day of Liberation of Nazi Concentration Camp Prisoners.
During the events, students were introduced to authentic archival documents, including the memoirs of General P.I. Batov about the events related to the liberation of the Ozarichi camp prisoners. Archivists also presented the memoirs of former underage prisoners and eyewitness accounts of those terrible years. Particular attention was paid to viewing videos telling the tragic story of the Ozarichi death camp and the Dulag-121 prisoner-of-war transit camp.
At the end of the meeting, the children were given a tour of the archives, during which they learned about the archive’s main activities and the contents of its collections.
