The Department of Archives and Records Management held a meeting with young specialists and trade union chairs of national archival institutions

On March 25, 2026, the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, with the participation of the Minsk City Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions, held a meeting with young specialists working in the archival industry and trade union chairs of national archival institutions. More than 60 people attended the meeting.

The event began with a presentation of a book exhibition, featuring publishing projects developed with the participation of young archivists, as well as a series of new popular science publications for young people, «Partisan Archive» and «History for Schoolchildren». Participants also viewed an exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of Kondrat Krapiva.

Oleg Leonidovich Voinov, Director of the Department, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.

Vladimir Iosifovich Zubrik, Chairman of the Minsk City Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions, addressed the audience and noted that youth policy in Belarus has been and remains one of the main vectors of national development.

V.I.Zubrik highlighted the main areas of work of Belarusian trade unions in protecting the rights and professional interests of young professionals, as well as health and cultural activities.

Andrei Evgenievich Rybakov, Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Science, spoke to the audience about prospects for professional growth and opportunities for further education in the master’s and postgraduate programs at the Faculty of History of Belarusian State University.

Svetlana Viktorovna Sushkina, Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Board of the Journal «Justice of Belarus», presented a report «On the New Concept of the Journal «Archives and Records Management», calling on young people to be active contributors.

Summing up the event, O.L.Voinov noted that the archival industry needs young, intelligent, energetic people who are able to keep up with the times and respond to challenges. He wished the youth professional and career growth.

The audience showed great interest in the speakers, and a number of questions were asked after their presentations.
