«Archives for School» Event at the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region

On March 4, 2026, the State Archives of Public Associations of the Gomel Region hosted an event to commemorate World Wildlife Day.

Students at the Gomel State Engineering College learned about the history of one of the oldest nature reserves in Belarus, the Berezina Biosphere Reserve, established in 1925.

The students were shown the documentary film «On the 100th Anniversary of the Berezina Biosphere Reserve», produced by the Belarusian State Archives of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.

Additionally, as part of the Year of Belarusian Women, the children learned about Klara Zalmanovna Reznikova, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and an honorary member of the 80th Guards Uman Order of Suvorov Rifle Division, and were shown her documents and photographs, which are stored in the state archive.

Finally, the students were given a tour of the archive, during which they learned about the archive’s main activities, the composition, and the contents of its collections.
